Life at Cover-More
Wherever you work, a Cover-More career is about caring, for customers and for colleagues. That means putting in your best efforts to get the best results. We’re driven to succeed and grow, and we want our people to share that hunger. We pursue opportunities that make us better, and we expect you to do the same. We never put profit ahead of people and we place equal value on compassion and commerciality. We’re a good company, and we’re home to great people. You could be one of them.
Friendly, supportive, people-focused. Our culture makes it easy for you to bring your best self to work.
A global group, and growing
Although we’ve stayed close to our Australian roots, Cover-More Group is a leading insurance and assistance provider with offices all over the world (think 22 countries, five continents, over 2,000 employees).
We’re best known for our travel products – in fact, we’re one of the largest global travel insurance and medical assistance providers there is. We have strong market positions in Australia, India and the USA, where we’re best known for owning Travelex Insurance Services. We also call China, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom home. Spanning employee assistance and speciality insurance, our expertise covers retail travel, aviation, financial institutions and direct insurance. And that’s just the start.
We have big, bold plans for the future – in assistance and insurance, health services and more. And now we’re part of Zurich Insurance Group, we’re even better positioned to build a future as bright as our ambitions.
Our size, diversity, ambition and global reach makes for plenty of ways to stretch yourself and grow your career. We’ll expect you to drive your own development, but we’ll support you every step of the way. And the more opportunities you seek out (and seize), the more we’ll put your way. It’s a win-win.
Cover-More people can tap into a wide-ranging curriculum of technical, leadership and business development programs. Even more, we’ll support you to earn formal qualifications when it makes sense for both of us.
On top of this, we run mentor programs and offer secondments across our own Group, as well as giving our people access to the breadth of Zurich’s career opportunities. All we ask in return is that you continue to drive progress – yours and ours.
We support everyone to bring their best self to work – whatever that looks like. We’re warm, genuine people and we build relationships to match.
We also like to thank our people for what they put in. We do that in different ways, depending on where you work and what you need. Here’s a taste of what you could expect.
Caring is what we do best, and we don’t draw the line at our customers and partners. We make it easy to give back to our communities in lots of different ways. Think paid volunteering days, community events and workplace giving as well as sponsorships and donations.
Giving back is important to us and to our communities. That’s why we launched our volunteer program in 2018.
Offering one day of paid leave to volunteer with local charities, our program helps causes like Wesley Mission and OzHarvest. Just as important, the program gives our people real insight into the work of these organisations.
So far, we’ve cooked up a storm at BBQs, made meals for homeless people and sourced and packed much-needed supplies.
A soon to be not-for-profit charity in memory of Sara Zelenak, A Cover-More customer who lost her life in the London Bridge and Borough Market terror attack in June 2017. The incident happened while she was visiting London from Australia and her parents, Julie and Mark Wallace intend to honour and give purpose to her loss by helping others suffering from similar traumatic grief.
"Cover-More were absolutely brilliant in our desperate time of need. Both my wife Julie and myself cannot speak more highly of the organisation and the extremely compassionate and helpful staff." - Sara's father, Mark Wallace.
Our parent company Zurich Insurance Group, funds Z Zurich foundation which supports the Zurich businesses (including Cover-More) to use its resources - namely employee experience and expertise, as as financial resources - to help communities understand and protect themselves from risk.
Education reduces poverty, boosts economic growth, promotes gender equality and increases income. So in 2019, Cover-More employees joined colleagues from around the world on a trip to Nepal to build schools with local villages. For five days, our volunteers lived, worked and connected with their hosts and changed lives in more ways than one.
